DIWI was appointed as Lead Consultant by Musanada to undertake construction supervision services for improvement of the Mafraq Ghweifat Highway, Section 1A, which carries significant international traffic between Sila’a and the border post at Ghweifat. The Mafraq-Ghwaifat International Highway is considered as one of the main strategic highways that serves the movement of goods and people in UAE and neighboring Gulf Countries. DIWI Consult Emirates was part of the highway upgrading scheme and was responsible to supervise the construction of the Section 1A Highway project having a total length of 20 km and an estimated construction cost of AED 410 Million. This section has been upgraded from an existing two by two lane highway to two by three lanes. Section 1A of the project included the construction of one new interchange and a camel underpass. The project commenced on 22 November 2014 and ended on 25 June 2017. DIWI has successfully completed the project within the budget, quality, schedule, and environmental requirements. While upgrading the highway, the project team was able to overcome the project challenges that always include maintaining live traffic flow and the safety of the users. We are extremely proud and honored to be part of this particularly important strategic highway project. The success of this project adds an additional milestone and value to our organization.
