Infrastructure development is one of our core activities. We provide design and supervision services for road networks, water supplies, drainage, wastewater treatment, and building works. We do not limit the size of our projects and have designed water supplies and wastewater systems to improve living standards of villagers in Africa and entire townships and cities for new developments in the Middle East. In the UAE, we managed the design and construction of seven one Million gallon irrigation reservoirs. We have studied and recommended improvements to agricultural feeder roads in the Caribbean and have reviewed and re-designed road networks and major drainage systems for a 250 square km area of farmland in Africa. Routine maintenance of highway infrastructure is essential to maximize the life cycle of a road network and DIWI has provided its expertise in this field to clients around the world. In the past ten years we have carried out road condition surveys and asset inventories on more than 500km of roads in the Caribbean, more than 2,000km in Europe, 5,000km in Africa and 6,000km in the Middle East. Our comprehensive studies provide clients with detailed assessments of residual pavement strengths, prioritized intervention and work schedules, specifications, and detailed designs for rehabilitation works and improvements. In the UAE, we used our knowledge and experience of infrastructure maintenance to assess and maintain the storm water drainage system in the City of Al Ain.

Since the early 1960’s DIWI has been active throughout Africa and Numerous projects have been undertaken in Central, West, Eastern and Southern Africa in the sectors of transport, water supply and community amenities. In the Caribbean Region, DIWI has also worked for many years in Antigua, St. Lucia, Haiti and in Belize on highway, water supply and infrastructure projects.
